Hello!
I am Jasmine (she/her) and I am a freelancer in the dance industry, I specialise in teaching, choreographing and performing. I enjoy influencing other individuals to physically and creatively find expression and play in a safe and comfortable environment. I am also a qualified masseuse and passionate about keeping the body, mind and spirit healthy.

About Me
I enjoy choreographing dances that are light-hearted, helping others to feel empowered and able to express their uniqueness through their movement. I also find myself delving into creating work on topics that highlight societal issues or my own lived experiences. I have found a need to explore both to find a balance of expressing both the light and dark in life. I regularly enjoy wellness practices such as yoga and meditation and love delving into spirituality and astrology.

My training consists of ten years of Irish Dancing where I competed across England. I was taught Commercial, Jazz and Musical Theatre during my time at Emil Dale Weekend School and went to Ballet alongside. I trained in Contemporary dance at GSCE, A-level and a BA Dance degree. I received a first in my degree from the University of Surrey in 2021 and during my degree I trained in Bharatanatyam, Contemporary African, Contemporary and Ballet. Outside of my degree I engaged in Musical Theatre, Voguing, Waking and Jazz. I became Co-Artistic Director of Actual Size Dance Company (a student-led company associated with the university) with Adina Dumitrascu in 2020 and currently we are moving the company out of the university and into a more professional setting. I also have completed a level 3 Massage Therapist Diploma.
I have performed at various places, including: The Redbridge Drama Centre (London) as part of Studio 3 Arts Vital Stages Choreography Platform; Rhoda McGaw Theatre (Dance Woking) and Bellairs Theatre (GSA/Surrey) with Actual Size Dance Company; The Gordon Craig Theatre (Stevenage) with Grant school of Irish Dance and English Youth Ballet.
It is important to me that through all the work I do, I create a safe and comforting place for people to show up authentically. I take care to educate myself on ways that I can be more inclusive in my practice; I am currently learning British Sign Language. I am also a Love to Move deliverer a course and programme created by the British Gymnastics foundation for the elderly and people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. In the future, I hope to engage in more courses that will allow me to be more accessible and diverse. I have completed baby and child first aid training with Daisy First Aid, Emergency First Aid at Work, Safeguarding, Food safety and have an enhanced DBS check.
